Part of the fun of Iron Man 2, directed again by Jon Favreau, is the fact that every single significant role is given to a different powerhouse actor who has fun with it Full movie Splice. The siblings, Sokka and Katara, are played by Jackson Rathbone (too old for his teenager-y role) and Nicola Peltz, who can't act her way out of a paper bag Full movie Splice. They are the only white kids in the village of Inuits, and she can bend water Full movie Splice. The Avatar, it turns out, is a kid named Aang (Noah Ringer) Full movie Splice. They soon figure this out when a boat from the Fire nation, led by cranky Prince Zuko (Dev Patel) shows up and grabs Aang Full movie Splice. The typical Robin Hood romance makes a strange appearance, having been manipulated into more of an inherited love than one stemming from a childhood relationship. To fill the dying request of Robert of Loxley, Robin returns the fallen soldier's sword to his father, Walter of Loxley (Max von Sydow), only to be commissioned to impersonate his dead son and act as the husband of his daughter-in-law Marion (Cate Blanchett) so she won't lose the property upon Walter's imminent death (as women can't own property in this era) Full movie Splice. The score, by Hans Zimmer (who also co-wrote the Batman Begins and Dark Knight soundtracks with James Newton Howard), hammers too insistently at the viewer's ear, lest we forget we're witnessing events of great import Full movie Splice. Lack of wit has always been a problem in Nolan's films; the only big laugh in Inception may be unintentional, when Page's character interrupts a mission-planning session with the plaintive query "Wait, whose subconscious are we going into exactly?" I never really bought Ellen Page as a dream-designing prodigy; when she first appeared onscreen in her indie-girl duds, all I could think was "This is a job for Juno!" But it's not Page's fault that her character amounts to little more than a peg on which to hang plot exposition Full movie Splice. Meanwhile, Cotillard brings her signature world-weariness to a disappointingly one-note femme fatale role; by the end of the film, the unkillable dream-ghost she plays is essentially a pretext for target practice Full movie Splice. Gordon-Levitt is excellent as the dream team's detail-oriented middle manager Full movie Splice. As for DiCaprio, I've already aired my reservations about him in somber, scrunchy-faced leading-man parts Full movie Splice. He's at his best when he plays a trickster unburdened by conscience, yet both he and the directors who love him seem inexorably drawn to these guilt-ridden brooders Full movie Splice.
