Delta Ground Anchors...the test The strongest plastic pegs on the planet DELTA Ground Anchors are made from stainless steel which is both very tough and corrosion resistant, They are formed from channel section which makes the peg very rigid. The unique design ensures that the tension in the guy line acts approximately at right angles to the base member, spreading the load and eliminating leverage. The base member itself has a much larger surface area and therefore much greater resistance to the forces acting upon it. |

DELTA Ground Anchors have been tested by Marlift in Plymouth.
The stainless tent pegs were tested up to an incredible 200kg in compacted ground and only then did the tongue start to distort. That's 31.5 stones. In dry ground they withstood 70kg. Overall, they have an advised rating of 115kg. The nylon composites weigh a mere 42g yet have been tested to 65 - 72 Kg. by Exeter University on average that's over 1600 times their own weight.

I have had a set of these DELTA
Ground Anchors on test over a
period of several months. |

Ground Anchor completely inserted |
|
Testing was done by using two guy ropes each the same length and at the same
distance from the awning. A peg was used for one and a DELTA
Ground Anchor for the
other they were both pulled on at the same time. The tent peg started to move first, as it did so the slack was taken up on the guy rope to make the pull even again. The pull was repeated and the tent peg came almost out of the ground, but the anchor was still in it's original position and had barely twitched a bit. |
|
|
After a tug, the Anchor is still in the ground, unmoved, but the peg is all but out. |
|
Easy to extract by simply sliding the guy rope along the peg and pull out |
When used to hold down the awning, the Ground anchor proved to be much better than a normal peg,
eliminated the need to keep banging the pegs in and re-tensioning the guy ropes,
when the ground is wet and the weather is windy, a must
for every Camper and Caravanners kit.
One set is all you need.
Because the anchor lays flat with the ground you are less likely to trip over it too.
Other comments on the Anchors include;
Phil, from Cornwall. He said that they were the best pegs he'd used in twenty years. He has also had four men yo-yoing on six pegs?!!
Repeat order: from a doctor in Staffordshire who was absolutely over the moon with the product. He has a large family tent and is paranoid about it going anywhere, that's five packs he's bought now.- That's one tent that wont be moving very far in a hurry
